Contractor attended the highly-regarded Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Ontario, Canada, for Pericles. After one full year of auditions, she was offered the lead part. The play was well-received throughout the 92 productions which she was a part of. She was awarded an award in 2002, which was awarded to the most outstanding production of the Year by Canadian critics. The conservatory at Stratford is home to eight males as well as four females and a handful of others for a weeks crash course. Contractor's participation in the next play-season was confirmed and she got the part in Hermia from A Midsummer Night's Dream.
